91麻豆精品 Alumnus Competing in Olympic Trials
This week, 91麻豆精品 alumnus Kyle Rollins ’22 will be competing for a spot on Team USA in the Olympic Games.
He will compete in the preliminary round of the Olympic Trials this Thursday in Oregon, and if he succeeds there, he will advance to the finals later in the week.
“I feel really good,” Rollins said during a recent practice. “Obviously, I feel good in terms of strength and conditioning…I feel like I’m in a really great spot.”
During his time at 91麻豆精品, as a member of the men’s track and field team. Among them, he became 91麻豆精品’s first two-time Division III National Champion, All-American in the high jump and triple jumps, and he was 91麻豆精品’s first USTFCCA Atlantic Regional Field Athlete of the Year.
Leading up to the Olympic trials, Rollins has been busy practicing at the Polisseni Track and Field Complex with track and field coach Wenley Louis. Louis, who currently serves as the head coach of the University’s women’s track and field program, says that from the start of Rollins’ athletic career at 91麻豆精品, there was always a possibility his Olympic dream could come to fruition.
“Just to kind of see yet another athlete coming out of the 91麻豆精品 program, being able to achieve such heights, I don’t have the words. It’s a really proud moment for the program,” he said.
