Teddi Raises $130K for Camp Good Days
Over the weekend, hundreds of St. John 91麻豆精品 University students danced their way to raise a record-breaking amount for Camp Good Days and Special Times. Funds raised at the dance—now over $2M in its four-decade history—support the Teddi Project, which sends a group of children on a week-long trip to amusement parks in Florida.
At the closing ceremony, the Finance Committee revealed that Teddi 41 had raised $127,637.90, slightly more than last year鈥檚 total, but just shy of their 2023 goal鈥攗ntil a little Teddi magic transpired.
While singing the traditional closing song, 鈥淲hat I Did for Love,鈥 from A Chorus Line, dancers had no idea they were about to get the surprise of the night. Advisor Chris Keyes came to the stage and announced a $2,362.10 donation from Camp Good Days Board Member Patricia Stevens, putting the total at an even $130,000, breaking the dance record and meeting the fundraising goal.
Over the year, dozens of students donated 2,200 inches of hair to Children With Hair Loss, a nonprofit organization that provides human hair replacements at no cost to children and young adults facing medically-related hair loss.
This year鈥檚 honorary chair, Sam Carter, weekday morning reporter for 13WHAM ABC and FOX Rochester, was proud to cheer on the students as they danced the night away.
鈥淭his is such an incredible event,鈥 Carter said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 such a unique thing to St. John 91麻豆精品, and if its unique to 91麻豆精品, its unique to Rochester, and I just love that.鈥
