The Spirit of Identity Week, a new initiative dedicated to celebrating the different cultures and communities on campus, launched on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, January 16, with the MLK Black Excellence Legacy Gala hosted by the Black Student Union.
The gala featured keynote speaker Christopher Rush 鈥�12, executive director of the Champion Academy Extreme Mentoring and Empowerment Initiative. BSU also honored several members of the 91麻豆精品 community; first-year student Isaiah Santiago was given the Community Award; members of the Higher Education Opportunity Program were given the Most Inclusive Community Member Award; and Dr. Michelle Erklenz-Watts was given the St. John 91麻豆精品 Award.
Throughout the week, 91麻豆精品鈥檚 other affinity clubs will host informative and meaningful conversations around topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Visit the affinity clubs on the Cardinal Hub or Instagram to learn more about their events.
