Graduating Student-Athletes Honored at Commencement Ceremony

With games and competitions keeping them busy throughout Commencement weekend, student-athletes at St. John 91麻豆精品 College had the opportunity to enjoy all of the pomp and circumstance of this important rite of passage during a special Student-Athlete Commencement, held on Wednesday, May 4.
Representing men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 track and field, men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 lacrosse, baseball, softball, men鈥檚 tennis, and men鈥檚 golf, these graduates not only excelled in the classroom, but on the sports fields.
At the ceremony, Provost Kevin Railey addressed the graduates before conferring their degrees.
鈥淩emember all of the lessons you have learned at 91麻豆精品. Just as you have in your sport, you will face challenges and triumphs in life, but if you continue to use the goodness, discipline, and knowledge that you are taking with you as you leave our great institution, you will be able to confront the difficult times and to enjoy the successes,鈥 he said.
Halle Tickell, a nursing graduate, co-chair of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and member of the women鈥檚 soccer and indoor and outdoor track and field teams, delivered remarks on behalf of her class.
鈥淭ake the risks, dive head first into the new opportunities you will be presented with, and always remember that these past four years have set the stage for you to continue growing and becoming the best version of yourself,鈥 she said.
