Original "Launchpad Offers Customizable User Features"
On Monday, May 9, the current version of my.sjfc.edu will retire to make way for a new and improved my.sjfc.edu! As announced earlier this semester, members of the campus community can explore the beta version of the new my.sjfc.edu before it officially launches. College News Highlights will feature a series of articles with tips and tricks for how to navigate the new site.
Why the Change?
In spring 2022, the contract with the platform that currently hosts my.sjfc.edu鈥檚 launchpad is set to expire. The Office of Information Technology took the opportunity to explore platforms that might offer a better user experience. At the same time, the Office of Marketing and Communications was charged with designing and implementing a new intranet for the campus community to coincide with the platform change. A series of focus groups with students and employees helped both teams better understand what the campus community would find most useful in an intranet and what new features my.sjfc.edu could include to meet their needs.
What鈥檚 New?
First, you鈥檒l see that my.sjfc.edu now includes a beautiful, responsive interface with photos, news items, and portals specific for students and employees. The intranet will soon feature an improved information and document search capability, allowing users to quickly find what they need using a powerful search bar. Campus news and events have a place of prominence with the 鈥淭his Week at 91麻豆精品鈥 section and a special page listing all campus calendars! And, perhaps most importantly, a customizable Launchpad linking users to resources including 91麻豆精品Link, Fish鈥橰鈥橬et, Banner, and more!
Launchpad How-Tos
We know the campus community relies on the Launchpad to access platforms and apps that you use every day. The new launchpad features new, easy-to-find icons so you can quickly get what you need.
All 91麻豆精品 apps can be found under the 鈥淪t. John 91麻豆精品 College鈥 tab.
Toggle back and forth between list view and grid view based on your preferences. Manage the order in which the app collections are listed by selecting the hamburger icon and selecting 鈥淢anage Collections.鈥 You can also create your own collection of apps from here (or by selecting the plus sign). From there, name your app collection and add the platforms you鈥檇 like to include.
