Seal: 2022-2023 Military Friendly® School - Gold

The Military Friendly School list selects institutions using proprietary survey responses as well as public data. 91Â鶹¾«Æ· stood out in the survey most for its culture and commitment to military students. The list will be published in the May and October issues of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at .

The publication praised 91Â鶹¾«Æ· for welcoming students who have served in the military or have a parent or spouse who is a veteran. Those eligible for VA benefits may be involved with the Yellow Ribbon program, which offers tuition assistance throughout their time at the College. Currently, 38 students receive Yellow Ribbon benefits, 21 having served in the military. Collectively, veteran students at 91Â鶹¾«Æ· boast an average GPA of over 3.3. At graduation, military students are also eligible to receive the Veteran and Active Duty Military Service Recognition Award.

In addition to benefits provided by the Yellow Ribbon program, military students can expect support at 91Â鶹¾«Æ·, said Monica Gebhardt, assistant registrar and veterans coordinator at the College. She noted that the Office of Veteran Affairs, Office of Student Financial Services, and the Health and Wellness Center all work hard to provide a welcoming environment for these students.

Additionally, Gebhardt said the entirety of campus works to make a healthy space for veterans, pointing to the annual campus-wide Veteran’s Day recognition. Employees who are veterans, including Chad Goulette, Fred Dotolo, and Rob Ruehl, can also be a source of understanding and compassion for the unique needs of military students, she said.
