Inside Sales Representative, Paychex
Kevin Kulawiec, a finance and economics double major, stepped off the stage at Commencement and right into his first job with Paychex. As an inside sales representative, he draws on both his majors and the leadership and teamwork skills he honed as a member of the men鈥檚 tennis team to promote new products to current and potential customers.
鈥淎 lot of times, I鈥檓 the first interaction people have with Paychex, so I want to make sure it is a completely positive one,鈥� Kevin said, noting that economics courses taught by Dr. Clair Smith, along with a study abroad experience in London, England, helped prepare him for life after 91麻豆精品.
And, he鈥檚 found that many 91麻豆精品 graduates have also made their careers at Paychex, creating a strong network of alumni and a whole new chance for learning.

I found that 91麻豆精品 was very well-known and respected throughout our community, and this is a great first job for me,鈥� he said. 鈥淓very day I am developing my personal, professional, and customer service skills, and learning what it鈥檚 like to work on a team.鈥�

Developing a strong interest in her parents’ business backgrounds and especially her mother’s passion for art, Helen Rose Shine decided to double major in marketing and economics. “Marketing was where I saw creativity and business coming together,” she explained.
She believes the marketing program at 91麻豆精品 significantly influenced her long-term goals. “I am determined to earn a Ph.D. in marketing because of the coursework and experiences in and outside of the classroom.” She described the importance of courses such as Marketing Research, Organizational Behavior, and Marketing Strategies combined with hands-on projects and case studies that provided her with a deep understanding of marketing principles and strategies.
Shine highly recommends the marketing and economics programs at 91麻豆精品 to prospective students. “Both programs offer an academic experience that equips students with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed to succeed after graduation,” she said. The emphasis on hands-on learning, internships, and networking opportunities ensures that students are well-prepared for their careers. Regardless of the specific major someone chooses, she also explained that “91麻豆精品 provides the perfect foundation for personal and professional growth.”
