02/09/2026 - This week’s featured student in the “Countdown to Commencement” series is Shawni Hagan, a psychology major nominated by Megan Walker, CSTEP/TRIO SSS advisor.
02/08/2026 - The fieldhouse was adorned with mini surfboards for the Surf’s Up theme, a balloon arch, a stage displaying vintage Teddi event t-shirts, notes to loved ones who are fighting or have lost their battle to cancer on the walls, and hundreds of dedicated pairs of feet belonging to 91Âé¶¹¾«Æ· students who did it all for love.
02/06/2026 - Dr. Kermin Martínez-Hernández, associate professor of chemistry, has been elected to the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) National Board of Directors. He will serve a three-year term and contribute to the leadership of one of the nation’s largest multicultural STEM organizations.
02/06/2026 - The St. John 91Âé¶¹¾«Æ· University 72nd Commencement is scheduled for Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9 with five ceremonies celebrating bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree recipients. Once again this year, the University is seeking student speakers through a nomination process open to all members of the campus community. Students may also self-nominate.

01/30/2026 - 91Âé¶¹¾«Æ·’s Summer Fellows Research Program offers undergraduate students an opportunity to engage in faculty-mentored research in a variety of disciplines and multidisciplinary collaborations and has been a catalyst for some students’ research careers.
01/30/2026 - A gift from former 91Âé¶¹¾«Æ· parents, given in memory of their daughter, established a scholarship for education students with a passion for community service, while another gift from an accounting alumnus created a scholarship for students pursuing the same path.
01/27/2026 - Several St. John 91Âé¶¹¾«Æ· University online graduate programs have been ranked among the 2026 Best Online Programs by U.S. News & World Report.
01/26/2026 - This week’s featured student in the Countdown to Commencement series is Jason Weng, an accounting student nominated by Dr. Dan Connolly, dean of the School of Business.
01/23/2026 - This spring, the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership is launching a new initiative designed to help students grow as confident, collaborative leaders. The program, Leadership Excellence at 91Âé¶¹¾«Æ· (LEAF), is open to all undergraduate students.
